As a digital agency our footprint is small, however we still strive to ensure that as our organisation grows, our environmental impact doesn’t.
There are a few simple ways we’ve embedded into our practise to achieve this:
In our offices and workspaces we:
- ensure we minimise waste and consider the lifecycle of all products we purchase - always disposing of end-of-life products in the most sustainable way possible
- Minimise water usage
- Apply energy saving techniques and technologies
Reducing our travel emissions by:
- Meeting online. Our team is spread across the motu and only comes together physically once a year - otherwise we’re on zoom
- Where travel is required we preference the lowest-carbon option - bicycles and public transport being our preferred modes
Reducing digital emissions - we’re cognizant that the cloud services we use to power our digital infrastructure uses significant amounts of energy and have begun a process in 2021 to lower our digital footprints. We’re looking at the amount of data we store and transfer and where we transfer it to.
For Purpose is proud to be certified Climate Positive Business Operations with Ekos.
We have measured and offset 120% of our carbon footprint for our business operations for the year measurement period 1 April 2021 - 31 March 2022 with certified carbon credits. These certified carbon credits are sourced from projects that grow and protect forests in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands and help to deliver climate resilience, waterways protection, erosion control, biodiversity conservation and community economic development.
